Despite what you may think, college → scholarships for stay at home moms ← are not that hard to get; especially if you have the right information to act on.
I know that a lot of women (who are mothers) seem to not take notice at the fact that there are thousand's of free scholarships available that target women who are stay at home parents, and that's why this article's purpose is to expand your view of the whole situation!
As you already know, college tuition fees are often very costly, and the majority of stay at home mothers cannot afford to pay these fees without some financial assistance of some kind, especially if there's no husband around to support you.
Fortunately for you, applying for scholarships for stay at home moms may be the only way out of a desperate situation, which is why you may have to sign-up for some of them!
If you want to return back to college, you must be prepared in four different ways: mentally, financially, physically, and emotionally.
In regards to emotions, you may have to put up with the stress that homework, assignments, and tests all bring. With finances, it's pretty obvious that you can't go to college if you don't have at least some of your tuition paid.
Mentally, you have to focus on your school work and cut out all distractions if you are not only (1) to pass your classes but (2) maintain your scholarship's eligibility. Last but not least, you have to be prepared physically, which is why you should always get sleep/rest and also why should do homework in the day time instead of the night. They say that your focus in the day is one-and-a-half (1.5) times (150%) better than it is at night, which should tell you something (hint hint)!
Also, scholarships for stay at home moms will allow you to earn your degree online instead of having to always do it physically at college. Because of this type of flexibility, you can spend time and take care of your kids while you earn credit hours towards the completion of your degree!
Just so you know, you do not have to pay back your scholarship money, but unfortunately, the false notion that you have to pay back money given to you by this type of financial aid is what keeps a lot of people (including mothers) from signing up for scholarship applications. I would say that this is probably one of the biggest myths out there on the subject, as I figure many people have yet to realize the differences between loans, grants, and scholarships!
Also, another reason why it may seem hard to get free college scholarships for stay at home mothers is because you may think that you need a 4.0 GPA (Grade Point Average) to qualify for most scholarships, when nothing could be further from the truth!
You can look up the statistics if you want, but most people who receive scholarships usually have 2.0-3.5 GPAs, which is not a 4.0 GPA (perfect GPA) by any means! A 2.0 GPA qualifies as a "C" average, while a 3.0 qualifies as somebody whose grades average out with an overall "B" average! Obviously, a 4.0 GPA denotes that you make all A's in your courses, which is great by my standards...that's for sure!
I hope that what I just said gave you hope, as there's no excuse why you can't get at least some free money to pay off your college tuition!
Last but not least, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is said that by the year 2016, occupations such as computer and communication analysts, computer software engineering, and personal finance advisors will all be highly coveted (wanted), if you know what I mean! Also, from the looks of it, these jobs will probably pay in excess of $50,000+ (50 GRAND) each year, so if I were you, I'd be possibly looking into scholarship opportunities in those 3 fields!
